He was born in 1817 and died in 1900 in Crimea. He was a Russian realist painter who focused his works mainly on seascapes. At the time of his death he left more than 6,000 pieces of art. I choose this artist because I like the great contrast between really dark colors and vibrant bright colors, which I will be using in my 20x30 painting.
